Federated Industrial Labs is the public laboratory of Federated Industrial. We design, build and operate autonomous production systems: machinery that carries software from intention to shipped release, working under the direction, review and legal ownership of a human operator.
The laboratory publishes what stands on its own. Languages, libraries and instruments produced on our systems are released openly, with their dependencies kept deliberately few and their behaviour explained in plain language.
Terra
Terra is our management system for autonomous production: the operations layer that plans work, directs the machinery that performs it, and verifies what comes back before anything ships. It is where the laboratory's ideas about production are being proven in earnest.
What we do
Autonomous production
Our production floor is run by autonomous systems that design, implement, test and document software in sustained runs. People set direction and hold ownership; the machinery carries the labour, on the record and open to inspection.
Languages of our own
Where general-purpose tools fall short, we build the language the work deserves. KFL, the Konsole Form Language, grew inside our closed systems and now lives in the open, with toolkits built upon it.
Libraries built to last
We produce libraries the way instruments are made: self-contained, documented, and tested against the failures that actually happen. A library of ours should be readable in an afternoon and dependable for years.
Federated by design
Every piece is made to stand alone and to answer for itself. We keep dependency chains short on purpose: what you take from us should not oblige you to trust a hundred strangers you have never met.
